Trying to reclaim the body you had before pregnancy can be defeating – especially when your focus is on your new family. The truth is, diet and exercise can only achieve so much when it comes to sagging, stretching, and stubborn fat pockets. The mommy makeover is one of the best ways to boost your confidence again and give you the energy you need.
While babies are a blessing, the effects pregnancy can have on a woman’s body are not. Diet and exercise aren’t always enough to achieve transformative results after pregnancy. For moms who struggle in the gym and miss the body they once had, a mommy makeover can help you return your body to pre-baby shape, boosting your confidence and improving your self-esteem.
A mommy makeover combines popular cosmetic procedures designed to reshape and contour the body, specifically aimed at postpartum women and their common concerns. Virtually any procedure can be included, based on your needs and goals. Dr. Kayastha’s mommy makeover package includes procedures custom-tailored to your individual needs – to improve not only your appearance but your self-confidence – so you can concentrate on being the best mother for your family.
To be considered a good candidate for a mommy makeover, you should meet with following criteria:
- Finished having children
- Completely recovered from childbirth
- At a healthy and stable weight
- Able to take considerable recovery time
- Concerned with sagging tissue and stubborn fat
- In overall good health
During your consultation with Dr. Kayastha, you’ll discuss your candidacy and goals for a mommy makeover to determine the right treatment package for you.
What to Expect
During your private consultation, you’ll create the ideal mommy makeover for you and your goals from our variety of surgical and non-surgical options.
What to Expect
A mommy makeover is performed under general anesthesia and involves multiple procedures in one surgical session. This can take 3-6 hours, depending on your unique surgical procedure.
What to Expect
A mommy makeover can require extensive downtime. You’ll need to avoid exercise and lifting until your incisions heal – make sure to arrange for help with child and pet care for at least two weeks.
A mommy makeover is a highly customizable procedure that allows you to choose the combination of mommy makeover procedures that best address your unique concerns. The mommy makeover often includes body contouring and breast surgery along with any procedures that could help a new mom regain her confidence. Dr. Kayastha will help you develop your custom treatment plan during your mommy makeover consultation. Some of the most popular procedures include:
- Breast Augmentation
- Breast augmentation is one of the most popular plastic surgery procedures performed each year. It uses breast implants to enhance the size and projection of the breasts and can be especially effective for postpartum women who experience breast deflation from nursing.
- Breast Reduction
- Breast reduction can reduce the size of overly-large breasts, relieving symptoms like back pain or chafing. Some women experience significant breast growth from nursing that doesn’t subside afterward, making breast reduction an effective option.
- Breast Lift
- Breast lift surgery can restore sagging breasts and deflation that often come with nursing and weight fluctuations. With surgical techniques, it lifts the breasts into a more upright position on the chest. It can easily be combined with implants or breast reduction, depending on your goals.
- Tummy Tuck
- The tummy tuck is essential for many postpartum women, especially when they experience stretched skin and muscles during pregnancy. A tummy tuck can tighten muscle laxity and get rid of excess skin for a slimmer and more contoured stomach. It can also achieve a reduction in symptoms like back pain and incontinence.
- Liposuction is a minimally-invasive way to reduce stubborn pockets of fat, or “baby weight.” For many women, it can be extremely difficult to lose weight after pregnancy, and liposuction can be customized to your unique treatment needs.

Mommy makeovers are performed in a hospital, and most patients are required to spend one night. However, you’ll be able to walk around on the day of your surgery. At home, you’ll be required to avoid strenuous activities for a few weeks. You’ll be able to do your normal daily activities like bathing and brushing your teeth soon after surgery, but activities like cleaning or anything that requires lifting should be avoided. Most patients who work at desk jobs can return to work in 2-3 weeks. Strenuous exercise can be resumed at 6 weeks. Once your recovery is complete, you’ll see a noticeable improvement in your figure and a reduction in fat and loose skin. As long as you maintain a healthy and active lifestyle without future pregnancies, you can enjoy your confidence-boosting results for the long term.
