I joined K Plastic Surgery in 2022 shortly after graduating from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Science with my Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies. I earned my Bachelor of Arts from the University of Colorado Denver in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology. My medical experience started during my time in the Army Reserve where I gained experience as a surgical technologist. It was there that I was introduced to the physician assistant role, but it wasn’t until my sister fell ill and spent 3 months on the Cardiac floor that I took a deeper interest in the role. The team that helped us during that time inspired me to fulfill my interest in medicine and my need to help others. During my spare time, I enjoy getting outdoors for a walk, learning new skills, going to the gym, and spending time with my husband.

Dr. K and Amina were absolutely fantastic from consultation to post surgery recovery, which was about a 7 month process. He has fantastic bedside manners and is a patient’s doctor. Pricing was fair and he was very generous with his time and availability.

I have had the best experience with K Plastic Surgery. The whole office staff is amazing. I came to Dr K. for a mommy makeover, I am not only pleased with the results, but I feel like a new person. Dr. K and Amina have been wonderful through this whole process from before surgery and after. I absolutely recommend K Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Kayastha, Amina, and his entire office staff were so pleasant, caring and knowledgeable. Everything was thoroughly explained at my consultation and each time I saw them. I clearly understood the procedure, risks and results I could safely expect. His office staff was phenomenal as well. It sometimes felt like I was the only patient because the entire practice focused on my needs. through the whole process.

Getting to Know Amina

  • What attracted you to medicine / healthcare?

My medical interest/experience started during my time in the Army Reserve where I gained experience as a surgical technologist. It was then that I was introduced to the physician assistant role, but it wasn’t until my sister spent some time in a Cardiac unit that I started to have a deeper interest and decided to return to school to pursue it. The team that helped us during that difficult time inspired me to fulfill my interest in medicine and my need to help others.

  • How did you decide to become a plastic surgery PA?

During PA school, I really enjoyed being able to do procedures whether that was in surgery, dermatology, or in the ER. I'm a visual learner, so being able to see what we're learning in surgery and dermatology was really helpful. I found dermatology really interesting too because of the connection between a person's physical health to their skin. Being able to combine my skills as surgical tech during my time in the army coupled with my interest in surgery and dermatology enabled me to be able to use both.

  • What is the best part of your job?

The best part of my job is the variety of cases I get exposed to. My cases can vary from botox and fillers, to skin cancer excisions and being able to first assist in the OR. I get to help with both cosmetic and non cosmetic procedures, some of which can be life altering for our patients. Being able to be part of a surgery that enables a patient's life to change for the better is one of the most fulfilling aspects of my job.

  • What do you like to do outside of work?

During my spare time I enjoy traveling, exploring new cuisines, going to the gym, and spending time with family and friends.
