Whitney M.

I was also thinking of going with a different place until I met Dr. Kayastha. Within 5 minutes of meeting him, I knew he was the one. He has an amazing bedside manner plus he was honest and straight forward from the beginning. He spent quite a bit of time with me explaining everything and didn’t send me to meet with his office staff to explain important details about the surgery like the other 2 places. I never felt like he was rushing with me to see another patient. My result were amazing and I would highly recommend Dr. Kayastha. Once you meet him, you won’t want to go anywhere else!!

Ann T.

Dr. Kayastha was very helpful since the beginning of the consultation, explaining every detail of the surgery all the way to the very last one, I would recommend anyone looking for his services and his staff are really nice and kind! Very happy will do all over again if needed.

What is Lower Body Lift Surgery?

The lower body lift procedure, or belt lipectomy, is performed under general anesthesia. A lower body lift addresses excess fat and skin laxity of the buttocks, lateral thighs and abdomen. Customization of your lower body lift will depend largely on your concerns and goals. During your consultation Dr. Kayastha will examine you and review options with you.

Who is a Good Candidate for Lower Body Lift Surgery?

Candidates for a lower body lift are those who have loose, sagging skin of the abdomen, flanks, buttocks, and outer thighs. This commonly occurs following significant weight loss, after pregnancy, or with normal aging. Patients considering this operation should be within a healthy weight range and able to maintain healthy routines.

Many individuals who have experienced significant weight loss and are now left with lax skin can benefit from a lower body lift.

Customize Your Lower Body Lift Procedure

The most common technique utilized in this procedure is an incision goes all the way around your waist. Through that incision skin and fat are removed resulting in tightening of the abdomen, groin, waist, thighs, and buttocks.

CUSTOMIZATION

  • Tummy Tuck

A tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, eliminates excess fat and loose skin from the abdomen, as well as restoring weakened or separated abdominal muscles.

  • Thigh Lift

A thigh lift, or thighplasty, improves the tone and contour of the thighs– excess fat and skin are removed to reshape the thighs and allow for greater mobility.

  • Buttock Lift

A butt lift, or lower back lift, lifts the skin around the buttocks to improve the shape of the butt following significant weight loss.

  • Liposuction

Liposuction aims to remove unwanted fat deposits from various areas of the body. With a minimally invasive approach, it is commonly used alongside other procedures for improved results.

Lower Body Lift Results

Your results will be immediately noticeable. Results are usually final by 12-18 months. Once healed, patients enjoy improved body balance and are much more comfortable partaking in both daily activities and physical activities. Maintaining results requires a commitment to healthy lifestyle choices such as routine exercise and nutrient-dense diets.

Recovering from a Lower Body Lift

Recovery from a lower body lift operation can vary, but patients should anticipate a downtime period between two and four weeks. It is common to experience discomfort, swelling, and bruising in the first week, but pain can be managed according to Dr. Kayastha’s aftercare instructions. Exercise can be reintroduced around 4 weeks after your procedure, but more strenuous activity should wait until at least 6 weeks.

Be sure to follow the specific aftercare instructions provided to you by Dr. Kayastha for optimal results.

Alternatives to Lower Body Lift

Lower body lifts are ideal for patients whose excess skin and fat are not localized to a specific area of the body. Patients with localized pockets of fat and skin could benefit from alternative body contouring options. Most of the surgeries that can be combined with lower body lifts are also alternative options.

Tummy Tuck

During the tummy tuck procedure, excess skin and fat are eliminated, and weakened or separated abdominal muscles repaired.
