Radiesse is a synthetic injectable filler that is effective at reducing the appearance of wrinkles, creases, and scars by augmenting the skin’s natural collagen supply from within. It is made up of microspheres that are suspended in a biocompatible gel that makes it convenient for administration and produces fewer side effects and allergic reactions compared to other injectables available in the market. It can be used to treat several areas of the body, including the nasolabial folds, perioral lines, lips, depressed scars, hands, and oral commissures.

What are Radiesse Dermal Fillers?
Radiesse is one of today’s most effective cosmetic injectables, made up of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres that are suspended in a water-based gel. Calcium hydroxylapatite is a substance found naturally in the body, making it highly biocompatible. After your provider carefully injects Radiesse into the targeted injection site, patients often notice immediate improvement, with volume that is frequently visible immediately following treatment. This instant correction helps smooth facial wrinkles caused by volume loss, facial aging, and environmental factors such as sun exposure and pollution.
As the gel carrier is gradually absorbed in the areas, Radiesse does much more than simply restore lost volume. Radiesse stimulates the production of the body’s natural collagen, encouraging the formation of new collagen while also supporting elastin production for healthier, firmer skin over time. This regenerative process sets Radiesse apart from many other cosmetic injections, which primarily provide temporary filling without long-term collagen stimulation. Patients can enjoy natural looking results that may last up to two years, although individual results may vary depending on factors such as age, metabolism, and lifestyle.
WHO IS A CANDIDATE FOR Radiesse?
Most patients looking to non-surgically treat wrinkles and areas of low volume can greatly benefit from Radiesse. During your consultation with Dr. Kayastha, you’ll discuss your medical history, aesthetic goals, and any potential reactions to the injectable. You should not receive Radiesse if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, as its effects in these situations are unknown. Radiesse can also be combined with other cosmetic treatments to enhance your overall rejuvenation results and create a more comprehensive facial refresh.

Due to its durability, Radiesse is commonly used for long-lasting improvement to the jawline, hands, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and cheeks.
What Happens During Radiesse Treatment?
Your injector will administer local anesthesia prior to the Radiesse injections to minimize your discomfort during the procedure (Radiesse also contains lidocaine for greater comfort during the injection process, which is a common anesthetic). Then, the necessary amounts of Radiesse will be injected into the affected areas. This treatment can take around a half hour, depending on how many areas you choose to have treated.
What Can I Expect After Treatment?
After the procedure, patients will normally experience some swelling and bruising at the site of injection, but these should disappear within a few days. You’ll most likely notice results immediately after your treatment session, and the younger-looking effects obtained with this injection can last for several months or years and can be repeated as needed.

After two to three of proper rest and post-treatment care, Radiesse injection results can last well over a year, improving collagen production throughout its lifespan.
