An IPL (intense pulsed light) photofacial is a laser treatment that addresses common skin pigment concerns including sun spots, age spots, freckles, and other blemishes. Using laser light energy, an IPL photofacial can heat deep layers of skin, causing collagen and blood vessels to constrict, resulting in reduced redness while removing the outer layer of skin to reduce brown spots.

Who is a Good Candidate for IPL Photofacial?
Those who experience hyperpigmentation, age spots, sun damage, redness, spider veins, rosacea, and other pigmentation issues can benefit from the IPL photofacial. The treatment is commonly used on the face, neck, chest, and hands. The light rays are attracted to pigment, making those with light skin tones more successful candidates. However, our laser professionals will need to examine your skin to determine if you are a good candidate or not.
IPL photofacial is renowned for treating various areas, including the face, arms, and hands, preserving youth long-term, and repairing damaged skin.
What Happens During IPL Photofacial
Prior to treatment with IPL Photofacial, the skin will be cleansed and makeup will be removed. A cooling gel will then be applied to the treatment area to protect your skin and enhance the effectiveness of the light beams. The laser handpiece will then be moved across your skin in a grid-like pattern, delivering bursts of laser light energy. Depending on the severity of your concerns, the laser might be passed over the skin several times.
What Results Can I Expect?
After treatment with the IPL photofacial, the skin may appear red and swollen for several days. Your brown spots may appear darker at first, however, in the following week, your skin will begin to flake, revealing your improved skin tone. For the most successful results, 3-5 spaced-out treatment sessions are recommended. Over the next few months following your treatments, your skin will continue to improve. It is important to wear sun protection to avoid pigmentation changes and future skin damage.
