The World Awareness Children’s Museum in Glens Falls is like a magic passport—it lets kids travel the globe without ever leaving town! With hands-on exhibits and colorful art from all over the world, this museum opens minds and hearts in a way that’s simple and fun for everyone.

The History and Story of the Museum

This museum began as one woman’s big dream. In 1985, Dr. Jacquiline S. Touba wanted children in her community to discover the magic of different cultures. She, along with a group of leaders, started collecting kids’ art and objects from every corner of the globe. By 1995, her dream became real when the World Awareness Children’s Museum was officially chartered.

Today, the museum is home to more than 8,000 artifacts and 7,000+ pieces of children’s art from 140 countries. Here, kids (and grownups!) can play, pretend, and learn how kids live around the world—from cooking in a Mexican kitchen to trying on a kimono in a Japanese tea house.
