Lacy M.

The office is immaculate. I’m always greeted with a smile and everyone remembers my name!! I’m usually in and out of the office, not like usual doctors’ offices where you sit and wait and wait. They get you in, they do their thing, answer all your questions, and send you on your way.

Ann T.

Dr. Kayastha was very helpful since the beginning of the consultation, explaining every detail of the surgery all the way to the very last one, I would recommend anyone looking for his services and his staff are really nice and kind! Very happy will do all over again if needed.

Whitney M.

I was also thinking of going with a different place until I met Dr. Kayastha. Within 5 minutes of meeting him, I knew he was the one. He has an amazing bedside manner plus he was honest and straight forward from the beginning. He spent quite a bit of time with me explaining everything and didn’t send me to meet with his office staff to explain important details about the surgery like the other 2 places. I never felt like he was rushing with me to see another patient. My result were amazing and I would highly recommend Dr. Kayastha. Once you meet him, you won’t want to go anywhere else!!

What is Male Breast Reduction?

Gynecomastia aka “gyno” is when breast tissue enlarges in males. This can range anywhere from overly puffy nipples to breast development that mimics a female breast. Gynecomastia surgery can be performed in a number of ways depending on the cause and extent of breast development. For those that have excess fat without breast gland hypertrophy liposuction alone might be adequate. For those that have glandular hypertrophy a periareolar incision is necessary to surgically remove this excess gland. Often, a combination of liposuction and glandular excision is the correct procedure for many men.

Who is a Good Candidate for Male Breast Reduction?

Candidates for male breast reduction are those who suffer from gynecomastia, including enlarged nipples or breast tissue. Gynecomastia can affect men at different stages in their lives, but candidates for male breast reduction surgery should be healthy adults within their ideal weight range. Patients considering male breast reduction should not be taking any hormonal medication that could lead to enlarged breast tissue.

If you have breast development, enlarged nipples, or sagging skin that makes you feel self-conscious, gynecomastia surgery can give you a more masculine chest.

Customize Your Male Breast Reduction

During your consultation, Dr. Kayastha will determine the extent of your gynecomastia and develop a surgical plan accordingly:

Male Breast Reduction

Customization

  • Liposuction

In cases of pseudogynecomastia, or fat-related breast enlargement, liposuction can be an effective, less invasive option.

  • Surgical Excision

When enlarged nipples and excess glandular tissue are primary concerns, surgical excision can reshape the chest accordingly.

  • Combination Approach

In extensive cases, combining liposuction and surgical excision achieves the most complete result.

Male Breast Reduction Results

The procedure offers a high rate of patient satisfaction, delivering a noticeably more masculine chest appearance. Instant results are visible though swelling continues to subside over several weeks to months.

Recovering from Male Breast Reduction

Most daily activities can be resumed within one week, but strenuous activity should be limited for the first few weeks. Dr. Kayastha will provide compression garments to manage swelling for the first four weeks and will monitor your progress periodically throughout your recovery.

Avoid heavy lifting or stretching your arms during your initial recovery as these activities can strain the area of treatment.

Alternatives to Male Breast Reduction

Liposuction

The liposuction device can be used almost anywhere on the body to suck out stubborn pockets of unwanted fat.

The best course of action is to get a copy of your insurance policy on gynecomastia to see exactly what they require to qualify for surgery.

Every surgery produces scarring, but your plastic surgeon can place your incisions within the natural contours of your chest so they are less noticeable if they dont fade completely.
