Although breast augmentation is consistently the most popular plastic surgery procedure available, it’s not always the best option for some patients looking to transform their breasts. Breast augmentation combined with a breast lift is the most effective way to completely rejuvenate the size, projection, and position of your breasts if you have sagging, and Dr. Kayastha can help you achieve a more confident you.
What is Breast Augmentation and Lift?
Breast augmentation with lift combines implants with a breast lift procedure to enhance the size, shape, contour, and position of the breasts. Although breast augmentation is a great way to enhance the size and projection of the breasts, it can’t fully reduce sagging skin and lift the breasts higher on the chest wall. Conversely, the breast lift can rejuvenate the breasts to a more upright position, but it can’t restore lost volume or increase their size. Together, however, breast augmentation and breast lift can achieve a more youthful, feminine figure.
Who’s a Good Candidate for Breast Augmentation?
Ideal candidates for breast augmentation and lift are those who want to increase breast size as well as re-position their breasts at the same time. Candidates should be in good health and be done breastfeeding and having children. This is because changes to your breasts can result in needing another procedure for best results.
If you’re happy with the size of your breasts when wearing a bra, you may be a candidate for a lift alone. However, if you would like them to be larger, implants are required. Implants add volume or replace lost volume. Women often opt for breast augmentation with lift to restore the breasts after volume loss and sagging due to age or pregnancy and breastfeeding. This procedure can be customized depending on your unique concerns and goals. This includes choosing the material, shape, and size of the implants.
The biggest benefit to combining a breast augmentation with lift is a lower cost and single downtime session, making it a great cost- and time-saving option for patients with busy schedules or lower budgets.
Customize Your Breast Augmentation with Lift
Because this procedure combines two different breast procedures, it’s one of the most customizable options available. During your consultation with Dr. Kayastha, you’ll select the type of breast implant that’s best for your goals as well as incision patterns and placement options.
Implant Type
Saline and silicone implants remain the two most popular options for breast augmentation. All implants are created with a medical-grade silicone shell but come with a different filling. Saline implants can be placed through a much smaller incision and filled with saline after they’re in place. Silicone implants come in two varieties – silicone gel and form stable silicone (or gummy bear implants). Silicone implants are among the most popular and natural-feeling type of implant.
Implant Size, Shape, and Texture
Once you select the type of implant you want, you’ll then choose from a variety of other customizable options like your implant’s size (in CCs), shape (round or anatomical), and texture (smooth or textured). Each comes with benefits – for example, anatomical implants are teardrop-shaped and can achieve a more naturally-full look in the upper breast pole. Textured implants can also prevent rotating within the breast tissue pocket and achieve a firmer feel. Dr. Kayastha will discuss which combination of implants works best for your goals.
Incision Pattern
There are a variety of incision patterns that can be used during your procedure. Dr. Kayastha can take steps to help your incisions heal well and be easily concealed within clothing, as well as recommend the right silicone scar treatments for your recovery, meaning your incisions will be virtually invisible once they fade. There are a couple of incision options for your procedure including:
- Circumvertical incision
- Wise pattern
Each one comes with its benefits and allows Dr. Kayastha to place your implants while also lifting the breasts and removing sagging skin.
Implant Placement
During breast augmentation, a pocket is created in the breast tissue for the implant. However, there are two options for placement. The first is on top of the chest muscle (which usually produces more projection with less discomfort during recovery) and underneath the chest muscle (which usually produces more subtle results and a natural feel). You’ll discuss the right one for your goals with Dr. Kayastha.

When you wake up from your surgery, you’ll be fitted with a specialized surgical bra. Make sure to wear this as much as possible during your initial recovery. It’s normal to have some soreness and discomfort, and our team will make sure you have pain-blocking medications for your recovery. Swelling will be at its worst for the first 1-2 weeks before beginning to subside. You should plan to take 1-2 weeks away from work and social activities to rest and recover. Dr. Kayastha will make sure you know when it’s safe to return to your regular workout regimen.
Breast Augmentation with Lift Results
You’ll see noticeable results after your surgery, but it can take a few months for swelling to subside and for the implants to settle into their final position. Most patients note that their breasts begin to feel and look natural at around 6 weeks after. Because breast augmentation with lift is the most transformative breast surgery available, you’ll enjoy fuller, perkier, more youthful breasts after your full recovery.
