This specific formula is made with particles that are larger and last longer than other injectable options so that it can provide volume under the thick skin of the cheek. Most Juvéderm products also contain lidocaine, which is a common anesthetic used by dentists and ophthalmologists. This means the injection is comfortable during and after injection.

What Happens During Juvederm Voluma Treatment?
Injectable treatments usually take up to a half-hour, depending on how many areas you wish to treat. What Can I Expect After Juvederm Voluma Treatment?
You’ll see results immediately after treatment, although most patients experience some redness, swelling, or bruising afterward. This goes away within a couple of days, and there is no downtime required with Voluma. This injectable lasts the longest out of the many Juvéderm products, which is up to two years and can be repeated after the injection fades. Be sure to inform your plastic surgeon of your Voluma treatment if you choose to undergo another procedure after your treatment.
